The enzyme serine protease acting on protein  an example of protein and its enzyme recognized.

Explanation:

The serine protease enzymes cleaves the peptide bonds of the proteins. The serine is an amino acid which makes it protein and the enzyme named by suffix ase as serine protease.

Another example is pepsin enzyme.

Enzyme papain in papaya is a proteolytic enzyme.

These are found in both prokaryote and eukaryotes.

The term protease can be easily manipulated to be an enzyme acting on proteins.
