Should students be required to wear uniforms?

English

Answer:

I don't think that schools should make students wear uniforms. If schools make the students wear uniforms then the school is going to have to pay to have those uniforms made. Students might even hate their school because the school is making them wear uniforms. On the other hand, students wouldn't be bullied for the clothes they wear as much because everyone is wearing the same thing. But, if students wore uniforms then they wouldn't be able to express themselves.

Why does the author most likely emphasize the size of New York City ?
mote1985 [20]

I would choose a. Simply because the author talks about it as if it's all that really ever existed and that nature cannot take over what it is not. However, it goes on about seeing how erosion and rot can affect such things and tries to compare it to things in nature as if it were nature itself.

What is the purpose of the verb phrase in the sentence? You are invited to stay for dinner. It is the predicate of the sentence.
mojhsa [17]
In my opinion, the correct answer is A. It is the predicate of the sentence. The verb phrase in this sentence is "are invited to stay". It is a phrase and not just a regular verb because it has its own modifier ("to stay") that describes or completes it, providing additional information. This predicate is in passive voice because the subject is actually the one that undergoes the action (instead of doing it, as subjects normally do), whereas the agent (the one who actually does the action) is unmentioned here.
