Given.

Radius of the Half sphere is 3 inches.

From the figure;

Radius of half sphere= Radius of cylinder= Radius of cone=3inches

Height of cone= 4inches.

Height of cylinder=6inches.

Volume of cone=(πr²h)/3

=(π3²×4)/3

=(12π) inch³

volume of cylinder= πr²h=π3²6=54π inch³

Volume of half sphere= (4/3) π r³=π(4×3³)/3 (1/2)=π×4×9/2=18π inch³

Total area of Composite figure=(12π +54π +18π) inch³

=84π inch³

=(84)× 22/7inch³

=12×22 inch³

=264inch³

Hope it helps...

Answer:

The volume of the composite figure is 84π ≅ 263.89 inches³

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets revise the rules of the volume of some figures

- The composite figure consists of :

# Half sphere with radius 3 inches

# Cylinder with radius 3 inches and height 6 inches

# Cone with radius 3 inches and height 4 inches

- The volume of the sphere is 4/3 π r³

∴ The volume of the half sphere = 1/2 × 4/3 π r³ = 2/3 π r³

- The volume of the cylinder is π r² h

- The volume of the cone is 1/3 π r² h

* Now lets solve the problem

- The volume of the half sphere

∵ The radius of the half sphere = 3 inches

∵ The volume of it = 2/3 π r³

∴ The volume = 2/3 × π × (3)³ = 18π inches³

- The volume of the cylinder

∵ The radius of the cylinder = 3 inches

∵ The height of the cylinder = 6 inches

∵ The volume of it = π r² h

∴ Its volume = π × (3)² × 6 = 54π inches³

- The volume of the cone

∵ The radius of the cone = 3 inches

∵ The height of the cone = 4 inches

∵ The volume of it = 1/3 π r² h

∴ Its volume = 1/3 π × (3)² × 4 = 12π inches³

- Add all the volumes to find the volume of the composite figure

∴ The volume = 18π + 54π + 12π = 84π = 263.89 inches³

* The volume of the composite figure is 84π ≅ 263.89 inches³

Solve the system of linear equations.<br> 15x - 5y = -20<br> -3x + y = 4
disa [49]

Answer:

Infinite solutions.

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the elimination method:

15x - 5y = -20

-3x + y = 4              Multiply this equation by 5:

-15x + 5y = 20         Now add this to the first equation:

0 = 0

So the 2 equations are the same and there are infinite solutions.

The service life of a battery used in a cardiac pacemaker is assumed to be normally distributed. A random sample of ten batterie
Fittoniya [83]

Answer:

The confidence interval is  25.16  < \mu < 26.85

Step-by-step explanation:

From  the question we are given a data set

     25.5, 26.1, 26.8, 23.2, 24.2, 28.4, 25.0, 27.8, 27.3, and 25.7.

The mean of the this sample data is

       \= x  = \frac{\sum x_i}{n}

where is the sample size with values  n =  10

         \= x = \frac{25.5+ 26.1+ 26.8+23.2+ 24.2+ 28.4+ 25.0+ 27.8+ 27.3+ 25.7}{10}

          \= x = 26

The standard deviation is evaluated as

             \sigma  =  \sqrt{\frac{\sum (x-\= x)}{n} }

substituting values

     = \sqrt{\frac{ ( 25.5-26)^2, (26.1-26)^2, (26.8-26)^2, (23.2-26)^2}{10} }

                  \cdot \ \cdot \ \cdot  \sqrt{\frac{ ( 24.2-26)^2, (28.4-26)^2+( 25.0-26)^2+ (27.8-26)^2+( 27.3-26)^2+( 25.7-26)^2}{10} }

     \sigma  =  1.625

The  confidence level is given as 90% hence the level of significance is calculated as

    \alpha  =  100 -90

    \alpha  =10%

   \alpha = 0.10

Now the critical values of \frac{\alpha }{2} is obtained from the normal distribution table as

      Z_{\frac{\alpha }{2} } =  1.645

The reason  we are obtaining  the critical values of \frac{\alpha }{2} instead of  \alpha is because  we are considering two tails of the area under the normal curve

  The margin of error is evaluated as

            MOE =  Z_{\frac{\alpha }{2} } *  \frac{\sigma }{\sqrt{n} }

substituting values

           MOE =  1.645 *  \frac{1.625 }{\sqrt{10} }

           MOE = 0.845

The  90%, two sided confidence interval is mathematically evaluated as

           \= x  - MOE  < \mu < \= x  + MOE

           26  - 0.845  < \mu < 26  + 0.845

           25.16  < \mu < 26.85

Given that the lower and the upper limit is greater than  25 then we can assure the manufactures  that the battery life exceeds 25 hours
