Answer:

New virgin queens develop in enlarged cells through differential feeding of royal jelly by workers. When the existing queen ages or dies or the colony becomes very large, a new queen is raised by the worker bees. When the hive is too large, the old queen will take half the colony with her in a swarm.

what's the difference between these- single or multiple genes, and dominant, recessive or sex-linked genes
Veseljchak [2.6K]
A single gene disorder is one that's known to be caused by a single gene. Multiple gene disorders, however, can be caused by multiple gene combinations and other factors. Dominant genes are always expressed in the offspring, while recessive genes are only expressed if the offspring recieves the recessive gene from both parents. Sex-linked genetic disorders occur most often in men, and are caused by a single-gene disorder gene being on the X chromosome but not the Y, so that the offspring needs only one recessive gene to have the trait/disorder.

What is the importance of adaptation as a mechanism for the survival of species?
Nana76 [90]

Animals can defend themselves against predators and extreme weather by adapting. Numerous birds may conceal themselves under long grass, while weeds, insects, and other creatures can alter their color to blend in. Predators find it challenging to locate them in search of food as a result.
