I believe that you are talking about simultaneous equations? Then in that case, using the elimination method(Singapore syllabus person):

-7x+y=-2 —(1)

x-3y=7–(2)

(1)x3:
3(-7x+y)=3(-2)
-21x+3y=-6 —(3)

(2)+(3):

x-3y-21x+3y=7-6

-20x=1
x =-1/20

Substitute x=-1/20 into (2)

-1/20-3y=7
151/20=3y
y=-2.35

You could also use the graphical method and find the intersection for your x and y.

C) !!!

In ratios, 'things go with the same things', so recliners have to be both in the numerator or denominator. The 8 is misleading. That's the total, and the problem is all about recliners and couches only

A standard number cube, numbered 1 through 6 on each side, is rolled 3 times. What is the probability of rolling a 2 on all thre
nikklg [1K]

Answer:

The answer is 1/216

Step-by-step explanation:

The probability of getting a 2 on a six-sided number cube is 1/6 because the number "2" appears on just one out of the six faces.

Since, the probability of getting a 2 in the first throw is independent of the probability of getting a 2 in the subsequent throws, we multiply these probabilities:

P (2, 2, 2) = 1/6 x 1/6 x 1/6

P = 1/216

Solve the trigonometric equation<br> 3-3cosx=2 sin^2 x
Zina [86]
= 3 - 3cos x - 2(1- cos^2 x)
= 2cos^2 x - 3cos x + 1
=(cos x -1)(cosx - 1/2)
   now cos x = 1    or cos x= 1/2
   draw a graph we get = + ve values
  hence .. 0 ,180,360 and 60,240, degrees in range x<2pi
