Alice starts reciting a poem she is familiar with about them as soon as she sees them. In the poem, Tweedledee and Tweedledum argue about a broken rattle until a crow scares them and makes them forget their disagreement. They extend their hands in greeting to Alice while denying that anything has ever occurred and ignoring her inquiries about how to exit the woods. Alice takes hold of each man's hand since she doesn't want to favor one over the other, and the three start dancing in a circle.
