If the slope formula is \frac{ y_{1}- y_{2} }{ x_{1}- x_{2} } all you have to do is plug in the points:

\frac{0-2}{-4 -5} = \frac{-2}{-9} = \frac{2}{9}

or

\frac{2-0}{5-(-4)} = \frac{2}{9}

Either way your slope is going to be \frac{2}{9}

For two days, your boss decides to double the amount you make if on day 1, you make $70 dollars and on day 2, you make$80 dollar
Hoochie [10]

Answer:

300

Step-by-step explanation:

Day 1: $70

Day 2: $80

Total commission = day 1 × 2 + day 2 × 2

= 70 × 2 + 80×2

= 140 + 160

= 300

Or

Total commission = 2(day 1 + days 2)

= 2(70 + 80)

= 2(150)

x = 300

Cora had 20 dollars to spend on 3 gifts she spent 11 1/4 dollars on the gift A and 3 4/5 dollars on gift B How much money did sh
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

Amount left for gift C = 4\frac{19}{20} dollars

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Amount Cora have to spent on gifts = $20

Amount spent on gift A = 11\frac{1}{4}=\frac{45}{4} dollars

Amount spent on gift B = 3\frac{4}{5}=\frac{19}{5} dollars

Amount spent on gift C = x

Total amount = Gift A + Gift B + Gift C

20 = \frac{45}{4}+\frac{19}{5}+x

20 = \frac{225+76+20x}{20}

400=301+20x\\400-301=20x\\99=20x\\20x=99\\

Dividing both sides by 20

\frac{20x}{20}=\frac{99}{20}\\\\x=4\frac{19}{20}

Hence,

Amount left for gift C = 4\frac{19}{20} dollars

Write the standard form of the line that passes through the given points.
serious [3.7K]

First of all, remember what the equation of a line is:

<span>y = mx+b

</span>First, let's find what <span>m:
m =   1-(-3) / 2-(-1)
m = 4/3
</span>
so: y = 4/3x + b

Now, what about b, or the y-intercept?

<span>To find b, think about what your (x,y) points mean:
<span><span>(-1,-3).
When x of the line is -1, y of the line must be -3.
</span><span>(2,1).
When x of the line is 2, y of the line must be 1.
</span></span>
Now, look at our line's equation so far: <span>y=4/3x+b</span>.

You can plug either (x,y) point you want into the x and y variables..the answer will be the same:
<span><span>(-1,-3)
 -3=4/3 × -1+b,
b=-3-(4/3)(-1)
b=-5/3
</span><span>
(2,1)
1=4/3 × 2+b
b=1-(4/3)(2).
b=-5/3.
</span></span>In both cases we got the same value for b.
</span>
So we have y = 4/3x -(5/3).

In standard form it would be:
(4/3)x - y = (5/3)
