The Griswold vs. Connecticut case was one that dealt with the issue of contraception and their availability to women. At this time many states had laws outlawing the use of contraceptives, including Connecticut. These laws were known as comstock laws.

After hearing this Supreme Court case, the Supreme Court justices ruled that these comstock laws violated the first, third, fourth and ninth amendment rights of women within the United States.
