The most common outcome of an off-year election is a win by the minority party going into the election.

Turnout is typically lower during off-year elections, and so the general consensus is that the minority party's die hard voters are the most motivated to vote out the people they oppose.

What are a few of the positive things the Equal Rights Amendment would have done for women in America?
Novay_Z [31]

Answer:

Employment, property and family law.

Explanation:

The ERA has to be considered in its historical context. It was first proposed in 1923, at a time where women had little or no rights regarding work and payment and faced discrimination. The ERA proposed a total abolition of law discrimination based on sex, which would have been revolutionary at the time. Later, during the 1960s and 1970s when the ERA was again discussed, some of the problems were solved with other laws, like the Equal Pay Act or the Civil Rights Acts. However, while these acts are a key part of American Legislation, the ERA is a Constitutional Amendment, which would give a completely new level of protection.

There is criticism, mainly because many of the laws and guarantees gained during the past 100 years have been tailored to protect women in their specificity. And many fear that the ERA would negatively override those protections. However, as an Amendment, any discrimination based on sex could be challenged based on unconstitutionality. And as of now, women still suffer discrimination and the acts and laws enacted so far are not sufficient.

belka [17]

Answer: boomerang children

Explanation:

The boomerang children or the boomerang generation applies to young people who after living alone choose to return to live with their parents. This phenomenon is typical of western culture where young people, upon graduating from high school, move to live alone and generally do not return to live with their parents until they create their own families.

Among the various situations that generate this phenomenon is the economic situation that prevents young people from being economically independent, as well as the emotional dependence on parents and also the immaturity and lack of desire to assume the responsibilities of adulthood.

Also, due to the high economic standards of many universities, many young people get to live with their parents to pay the costs of the study.

I hope this information can help you.
