Interpersonal communication isn't just about what is really said - the dialect utilized - however how it is said and the non-verbal messages sent through manner of speaking, outward appearances, signals and non-verbal communication.

Even without speech, communication can still take place. They can still use cues of facial expressions, dress, postures to express their role, personalities, and emotional state.

 

Most people engage in interpersonal communication daily. Interpersonal communication can happen many times a day and have a lot of functions. The functions are to collect and give information, maintain relationships, influence attitudes of others, give and receive emotional support, express personal needs, make decisions, predict behavior, make decisions, regulate power, and predict behavior.
