Answer: The reproductive capacity of the star fish is asexual.

Explanation: The starfish is known to reproduce another of its kind by fragmenting. It is by breaking a part of its one or more arms. The broken fragment grows to be individual starfish. And if you are wondering the broken arm of the parent starfish, well it regrows.

You can observe this phenomenon in plants as well and definitely with other sea creatures and bacteria, e.g., corals, sponges, and cyanobacteria

Starfish reproduces by both sexual and asexual means while other animals like deer, rabbit and humans go only by sexual reproduction.

Explanation:

Starfish is a species belonging to class Ochinodermata and is a marine species. Starfishes are known for their tremendous and effective regeneration and reproductive capacity. Starfishes reproduce through the vegetative fission method which is the asexual manner.

Also starfish reproduces majorly by spawning, which is a process where the school of starfish pool together and release their gametes into the water. The probability of the gamete mating is increased.

Whereas the other animals like deer, rabbit and human beings reproduce sexually only. These animals has male and female members who have their respective gonads and gametes. After intercourse, the gametes fuse and an embryo develops inside the female member giving birth to an offspring.

What is the difference between positive and negative feedback cycles?
schepotkina [342]

Positive feedback cycles always increase the response. Negative feedback cycles always decrease the response.

Positive and negative feedback mechanisms always work in antagonistic fashion to maintain a homeostatic balance of a parameter such as temperatures or pH in the body. Positive feedback is akin to a gas pedal while negative feedback is akin to a brake and reverse pedal.

Explanation:

An example of a parameter is blood sugar levels. Glucagon is a hormone responsible for positive feedback since it increases blood sugars when levels are low. Insulin, however, is a negative feedback hormone that reduces blood sugars levels when they are elevated. These two work antagonistically to maintain the right sugar levels in the blood.
