The gakkel ridge is formed by a divergent tectonic plate boundary between the north american plate and the eurasian plate. what

would most likely be observed at this tectonic boundary? mountains created by the movement of magma into the fissure between two tectonic plates frequent earthquakes caused by the rubbing of two tectonic plates against each other destruction of the oceanic lithosphere by plate movement under the crust due to subduction chasms reaching the mantle caused by the movement of two tectonic plates away from each other

35. What factor primarily controls the viscosity, and therefore the explosiveness of a magma? A. Dissolved gases B. Pressure C.
Rasek [7]

Answer:

E. Mineral content

Explanation:

Viscosity is an internal property of a fluid that offers resistance to flow, the nature of volcanic eruptions is highly dependent on magma viscosity and also on dissolved gas content (dissolved gases become trapped by thick magma and the magma chamber begins to build pressure).

The viscosity of magma is controlled by the size of the molecules that comprise it.

Felsic lava contains elements of small size (sodium and aluminum), these elements form polymers and large crystalline macromolecules like silica, the more extensive silicate chain molecules the more viscous the magma becomes, this happens because larger molecules have stronger intermolecular bonds preventing movement and spreading.

Mafic and ultramafic lava, on the other hand, have lower viscosities, also contain lower quantities of silica and aluminum and are rich in magnesium oxide, which does not form large molecular structures, therefore lava flows smoothly, unrestricted by intermolecular forces.

I hope you find this information useful and interesting! Good luck!

What weather predictions can you make about the highlighted area? Your answer should consider pressure, wind speed, and forecast
Setler79 [48]

Answer:

The highlighted area will experience a low-pressure system with four octas of cloud cover. Wind speeds will be between 48 and 52 knots coming from the South West. The L indicated the type of pressure and the pressure measured in mb on the map shows the reduction of the pressure towards the L. The circle half-shaded black indicated that the sky will have about 50% cloud cover. The wind bard indicated the direction the wind is blowing from and the triangle has a correlating speed. Also, this shaded area will likely experience rainfall.
