When determining a rhyme scheme, use the order of the alphabet for identifying the rhyming words at the end of lines. The first line is labeled A. Any line in the stanza that rhymes with A receives an A also. If the line does not rhyme with a previously labeled line it receives the next letter of the alphabet. For example, floor (line 2) does not rhyme with December (line 1) so it is labeled B. However, lines 4, 5, and 6 (Lenore, Lenore, evermore) rhyme with floor so they receive a B too. Borrow (line 3) does not rhyme with either of the previous lines so it is labeled C.
