The second amendment is important because it is the amendment that give United States citizens the right to “have and bear arms” or own guns.

The 2nd Amendment is the guarantee of our ability to change our government as per the Declaration of Independence if it should it ever become necessary (gods forbid). W/o the threat of armed insurrection, we believe, that the other rights enshrined in our Constitution would be completely at the mercy of our national government.

Spain saw Britain as a rival and wanted to expand its own territory in North America.

Explanation:

The helped counter balance Britain's naval power. The Continental Navy had roughly 20 ships and Britain's Navy had roughly 500.  The Spanish ships helped make it hard for the British Navy to blockade the American coast.  They also send advisers to the colonists to help train them and help them improve.
