You will need to use the line equation in the point-intercept form that is represented as:

y - yo = m.(x - xo)

Where:
xo, yo -> Point coordinate
P (-3,5)

m -> Slope = -4

Calculating:

-> y - 5 = -4.(x - (-3))
-> y - 5 = -4.(x + 3)
-> y - 5 = -4x - 12
-> y = -4x - 12 + 5

-> y = -4x - 7
or...
-> 4x + y + 7 = 0

When graphing a linear inequality in two variables, explain how to determine which side of the boundary line to shade. Please he
Murrr4er [49]
\ \textgreater \ means you shade the part above the line, and \ \textless \ means you shade the part under the line.

If it has an equal bar under it, like this: \leq or \geq, then you also shade the line, by making it solid instead of dotting it.

Which statement is true about the polynomial after it has been fully simplified? (See picture)
12345 [234]
I think it would be "It has 2 terms and a degree of 2", because the 3x^2y^2 and the -3x^2y^2 cancel out. Then, you're left with -5xy^2+2x^2.
In what remains, there are 2 terms, each with the highest degree of 2, so I would be led to believe A is your answer.

Terri is starting a babysitting service to make some extra money. She plans to charge a base fee of $10 plus $7 per hour. Write
antoniya [11.8K]

Given:

Terri plans to charge a base fee of $10 plus $7 per hour for babysitting.

To find:

The function that could be used to represent her total charge for the babysitting service, y, as a function of the number of hours she babysits, x.

Solution:

Let y be the total charge for the babysitting service for x hours.

Base fee = $10

Additional fee for one hour = $7

Additional fee for x hour = $7x

Total fee = Base fee + Additional fee for x hours

y=10+7x

Therefore, the equation of required function is y=10+7x.

Two roots of a third degree polynomial function f(x) are –4 and 4. Which statement describes the number and nature of all roots
marta [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

A third degree polynomial has a <em>total of three roots</em>, real and imaginary combined.

If it already has 2 real roots, -4 and +4, then it has to have three real roots because imaginary roots come in conjugate pairs, i.e. they come in even numbers.
