Answer:

The set of polynomial is linearly independent

Explanations:

For clarity and easiness of expression, the complete solution is handwritten in the file attached. However, the following are the steps taken:

1) The coordinate vectors of the polynomials are formed as:

(1,0,6,-1), (0,1,02) and (1,1,6,0)

2) A matrix is formed using the coordinates of the polynomials as the columns of the matrix

3) The polynomial formed is row reduced to form an echelon matrix.

4) As seen from the reduced echelon form of the matrix, the rank of the matrix = 3

5) since the rank = number of polynomials = 3, the set of polynomials is linearly independent.

A 7 kg ham costs $19/kg. Find the cost per pound.
stepan [7]

Answer: \$8.62/\text{Pound}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

There is 7\ kg of ham available which costs

cost=\$\ 19/kg

i.e.

1\ kg\ \text{costs}\ \$19

and we know

1\ kg=2.204\ \text{pound}

So, 2.204\ \text{Pound costs}\ \$19

thus 1\ \text{Pound costs}\ \dfrac{19}{2.204}=\$8.62/\text{Pound}

Exact Form:  c = 3/5

Decimal Form: c = 0.6

Step-by-step explanation: Isolate the variable by dividing each side by factors that don't contain the variable.

Hope this helped you!

Can someone please explain the area of a circle in the simplest way possible, no links
AlekseyPX

So, for the area of a circle, there should be a line in the middle. Correct?

Well, that line is the diameter. Then cut that in half, so if the diameter is 6, the radius is 3.

Then multiply the the radius by the radius, so 3x3 once you get that, multiply the answer by pi. Pi= 3.14, so if you do 3x3x3.14 you should get 28.26. Hope this helps.
