(0, 0) is the starting point.

Explain how y changes as x increases.

In Function 1:

$y = 0.5+3x$

As  x increases,  y gradually increases by adding 3.

In Function  2:  

$y = 3(0.5)x =\frac{3}{2}x$

As x increases, y gradually decreases by dividing by 2.
