Answer:

Quoted from"The Invisible Man" by Ralph Ellison, these lines are spoken by the vet who had mocked the narrator's college and Mr. Norton.

Explanation:

Ralph Ellison's "The Invisible Man" tells the story of the narrator/ protagonist who had been accustomed to being <em>"invisible"</em>, meaning he was unnoticed by people. Amidst the racial prejudice of the blacks by the whites, the young narrator finds it hard to fully comprehend the situation. And things turn for the worse when he showed the reality of life for the blacks to one of the college's benefactors which resulted in him getting expelled from the college.

But despite all that, he calmly accepted his mistake and asked for recommendation from the man. The letters did not endorse him but rather cheated him from any form of employment. The given quote is from Chapter 7, spoken by the vet who was his co-passenger in the bus for New York. He told the young man to "<em>come out of the fog"</em>.  He advised him to try to "<em>learn to look beneath the surface</em>", be more conscious of the events around him so as not to be a victim.

If you work an 8 hour shift on each weekend day and take two weeks off during the year, how many hours will you work in a year?
postnew [5]
Well there are approximately 104 weekend days in a year (not including a leap year) and if he takes 2 weeks off it which would include 4 weekend days you would be left with 100 weekend days. So 100x8=800. So you would work a total of 800 hours in a year.

Why do most people think of marketing as merely selling or advertising and how is this view limiting?
zysi [14]
Because marketing has a huge range. Generally, people regard it as just simple a place where people sell or purchase goods.
In my opinion, this kind of view will limit people's mind. I mean, people do not have a good awareness of what marketing is and what business is.

so correct option is  b. 1.235

Explanation:

given data

investment  = $10,000

common stocks = 20

total investment = $200,000

portfolio beta = 1.2

sell one stocks  beta = 0.7

sell = $10,000

purchase another stocks beta = 1.4

to find out

What will be the beta of the new portfolio

solution

we first find increment in beta that is express as

increment in beta = investment × ( purchase stocks beta - sell stocks  beta) ÷ total investment     .............................1

put here value we get

increment in beta = \frac{10000*(1.4-0.7)}{200000}

increment in beta =  0.035

so

new beta of the portfolio will be

new beta of the portfolio = 1.2 + 0.035

new beta of the portfolio= 1.235

so correct option is  b. 1.235
