Sara Orne Jewett wrote the story "A White Heron" to be published in 1886 and later was part of his anthology called "A White Heron ANd Other Stories."The story refers to Sylvia, a young girl that has to leave the city to live with her grandmother in the woods of Main. Mrs. Tiller, her grandmother is taking care of Sylvia when the girl meets a bird hunter that is chasing a rare species of bird. Sylvia, who started to like the woods a lot, faces the dilemma to tel or not the hunter, that she had seen the rare bird.
