Suppose you write a book. The printer charges $4 per book to print it, and you spend $5500 on advertising. You sell the book for

$15 a copy. How many copies must you sell to break even (total cost equals income for sales)? What is your income (or costs) for that many copies?

You will need to write an equation to do things faster
let be x number of copies sold to break even
5500+4x= 15 x
5500= 15x-4x
5500=11x
x= 500
you need to sell 500 copies to break even
500 x15= $ 7500

Lisa's new home had a purchase price of $185,500. She got a 15-year fixed mortgage for 75% of the purchase price. The interest r
Lady bird [3.3K]

Based on the purchase price of Lisa's home, the mortgage period, and the interest rate on the loan, Lisa's monthly payment is D)$957.72.

What is Lisa's monthly payment?

First find the loan amount:

= 75% x purchase price

= 0.75 x 185,500

= $139,125

Convert rate and period to monthly figures:

= 15 x 12                                                        = 2.990 / 12

= 180 months                                                = 0.24917%

Monthly rate is an annuity while the loan amount is the present value of an annuity:

Present value of annuity = Annuity x ( 1 - (1 + rate) ^ -number of periods) / rate

139,125 = A x  ( 1 - (1 + 0.24917%) ⁻¹⁸⁰) / 0.24917%

A = 139,125 ÷ ( ( 1 - (1 + 0.24917%) ⁻¹⁸⁰) / 0.24917%)

A= $957.72

How many times does 32 go into 204
jeka94
This question have 2 different answer depending on what law he is stating in this problem
Solution 1
=> 204 / 32 = 6.38 times did 32 goes to 204.
Solution 2
=> 204 - 32 = 172
=> 172 / 32 = 5.38
=> 5.38 * 100% - 538%

Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Answer: The probability that a random selected bottle will have less than 440 ml of beer is 23.882% (0.23882)

find attached drawing of the area under the normal distribution and readings off the normal distribution table

Step-by-step explanation:

QUESTION: Beer bottles are filled so that they contain an average of 445 ml of beer in each bottle. Suppose that the amount of beer in a bottle is normally distributed with a standard deviation of 7 ml. a. What is the probability that a randomly selected bottle will have less than 440 ml of beer

ANSWER:

Taken the given data from the question,

mean = μ = 445 ml

standard deviation = σ = 7 ml

x= 440 ml

One would also need to illustrate the area covered by such a region in a normal distribution curve (Kindly find attached a diagram of this)

FIRST STEP Find the z-score

The distribution is a normal distribution, so the z-score is

z = (x-μ)/σ = (440 - 445)/7 = -0.71 (2 d.p)

SECOND STEP Finding the probability of the z-score from a normal distribution which is equivalent to the the probability we are looking for

Pr(x < 440 ml) = Pr (z < -0.71) = 0.23882 [THIS IS GOTTEN FROM THE STANDARD NORMAL DISTRIBUTION TABLE, kindly find attached a picture illustrating the way the solution is gotten from the table]

The standard normal distribution table takes the probability of areas to the left. Reading the table one should take the the value with -0.7 and the 0.01.

Therefore, the probability of a beer chosen at random to be less than 440 ml is 23.882% (leaving in percentage or 0.23882)
