Pollution Probe was formed in 1969 by a group of University of Toronto students concerned about some environmental issues that had no defense at the moment. In this time is a national nonprofit, nongovernmental environmental organization, its mission is to achieve tangible and positive environmental change.

Greenpeace was founded in 1971 by Irving Stowe and Dorothy Stowe, Canadian and US ex-pat environmental activists. Which of the following "Progressive Amendments" made the federal government more democratic? A. 18th Amendment (outlawing alcoho
Mamont248 [21]

Answer:

The correct answer is C. The "Progressive Amendment" that made the federal government more democratic was the 17th Amendment, that provided for the direct election of senators.

Explanation:

The Seventeenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States establishes the direct election of the United States Senate by popular vote. The amendment replaces Article I, Section 3, Clauses 1 and 2 of the constitution, under which the Senate was elected by the State Legislatures. It also alters the method of filling vacancies in the Senate, to be consistent with the method of choice. It was adopted in April 1913 and contributed to the democratic strengthening of the country, by granting more electoral rights to its citizens.

How did the Atlantic slave trade affect societies within Africa?
bogdanovich [222]
I would say A only because it says the societies meaning the people, not the actual area like what kind of new people settled there after the slaves were taken. Second, C doesn't make sense because the only technology that came to be was in the North and that was when slavery was being taken care of. Lastly, D is correct but, slaves were still brought to the U.S. and if it devastated the population, there would be little to no slaves.
