  • Counter lines are the line on the map that is drawn between two places at same altitude from the sea level.
  • It is the notation in the map. Usually in most of the topographic maps, in every '5th contour line' bold or wider counters are drawn.
  • The two adjacent counter liens on map do not intersect but the elevation can be different among them, called as the counter interval.
