In ancient Mali, people were divided into castes. One of the most respected caste was the farmers because they provided food . The artisans came next , just below the farmers. The other groups of the caste system were fishermen, scribes, civil servants, soldiers and slaves.

The religion of Islam was important part of the Empire of Mali. The kings had converted to Islam but no one was forced to convert. Many people just combined Islam with their local traditions.

In what major way does climate influence human activities? (Give an example)
Arlecino [84]
The Earth's climate influences most of human activity from day-to-day patterns to key decisions in the geography of our cities and agriculture. Every region of the planet experiences different climates at different points of the year, most societies have been constructed in areas with reliable water sources for crop cultivation and farming, where different crops are planted and when they are harvested. Major climatic disasters such as hurricanes, cyclones, tsunamis etc, alter human activity massively, rendering homes and investments damaged and can affect financial markets also.

Do you think that government representatives truly represent the people or are they more interested in taking care of themselves
Gemiola [76]
It's truly dependent upon the area represented. Smaller-level governance is definitely focused on the individual and small group, since the representative is directly responsible and able to communicate openly with their constituents. When the levels reach state and federal representatives, it becomes tougher to directly communicate because of the greater distance (and more levels) between the representative and the constituent.
