The Reason prohibition directly led to organized crime was because the public demand for illegal alcohol was increasing, therefore people such as Al Capone would organize secret bars called “speakeasies”
American women could not vote in the 1800s because state constitutions did not allow it.
During this era, women were not allowed and given the right to vote since by state constitutions, women were not considered citizens and that renders them ineligible to vote.

Back then when slavery was a thing, there were abolitionists- to abolish is to end or stop- abolitionists for slavery would of helped slaves escape and they would of voted against slavery.
