Abbasid caliphate was the third Islamic caliphate, succeeding the Prophet Muhammad. The Abbasid dynasty was originally from Muhammad's uncle Abbas ibn Abdul-Muttalib. After gaining power, Abbasids moved the capital to Baghdad, Iraq.
