Shays rebellion was a rebellion outraged by Daniel Shays. Attacks on court as well as government houses were made during this rebellion. The rebellions demanded the prevention of trial and imprisonment of debt-ridden citizens.

Three ways free African Americans faced discrimination during the Shays rebellion are:

  1. The free African Americans were forced to not go out in public.
  2. Few of the states even did not let them vote on the basis of colour and race discrimination.
  3. The children of the African American were not allowed to attend school with  white Americans.
