2^- 3x = 6^x + 4

Solution: x = - 4ln(6)/ln(48) Decimal: (- 1.85137.....)

Solve For X: Step by Step:

2^(- 3x) = 6^(x + 4)

Solve Exponent:

2^-3 = 6^x + 4

log (2^-3x) = log (6^x + 4) (Take log of both sides):

( - 3x) * (log (2)) = (x + 4) * (log (6))

- 3x = (log (6)/(log (2) * (x + 4)

- 3x = 2.584963 * (x + 4)

- 3x = 2.584963x + 10.339852

Simplify both sides of the Equation:

- 3x - 2.584963x = 2.584963x + 10.339852 - 2.584963x

Subtract: 2.584963x From both sides:

- 5.584963x = 10.339852

- 5.584963x = 10.339852

- 5.584963 =====> - 5.584963

Divide both sides by: ===> - 5.584963

Hence: x ===> - 1.851373

Answer: x = - 1.851373

Hope that helps!!!!! : )

Henry has 20 Lawns mowed out of a total of 50 lawns. What percentage of the lawns does Henry have to still mow?
elena55 [62]
Henry has completed 40% of his work, leaving him with a remaining 60%.

What you do is divide 20 by 50 and your answer is .4, move the decimal two places to the right to get your percent, 40. Then subtract it out of 100 and you get the remaining 60%, which essentially is your answer.

Why are the orbitals represented in those<br> shapes?
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

An orbital is a wave function for an electron defined by the three quantum numbers, n, ℓ and ml. Orbitals define regions in space where you are likely to find electrons. s orbitals (ℓ = 0) are spherical shaped. p orbitals (ℓ = 1) are dumb-bell shaped.

Answer:

49 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

h(t) = 56t - 16t²

This is the equation of a parabola.

We must solve the equation to find the time (t) when the ball reaches its maximum height (h).

The coefficient of t² is negative, so the parabola opens downward, and the vertex is a maximum.

One way to solve this problem is to convert the equation to the vertex form.

We do that by completing the square.

Calculation:

h = -16t² + 56t

Divide both sides by -16 to make the coefficient of  t² equal to 1.

(-1/16)h = t² - ⁷/₂t

Square half the coefficient of t

(-7/4)² = 49/16

Add and subtract it on the right-hand side

(-1/16)h = t² - ⁷/₂t  + 49/16 - 49/16

Write the first three terms as the square of a binomial

(-1/16)h = (t - ⁷/₄)² - 49/16

Multiply both sides by -16

h = -16(t - ⁷/₄)² + 49

You have converted your equation to  the vertex form of a parabola:

y = a(t - h)² + k = 0,

where (h, k) is the vertex.

h = ⁷/₄ and k = 49, so the vertex is at (⁷/₄, 49).

The time to reach maximum height is ⁷/₄ s = 1.75 s.

The graph below shows that the ball reaches a maximum height of 49 ft after 1.75 s.

Answer:

  see attachment

Step-by-step explanation:

The directions tell you what you need to know. It is a matter of adding up the values shown and finding the missing number to make the total be -20. Of course, it works best to start with a row, column, or diagonal that has 4 numbers already.Then, you're only finding the 5th number.

You can start with either diagonal, column 1 or 4, and row 4 or 5. Filling the missing numbers in those spots (red) will let you find the remaining missing numbers (green, then blue).

The square at row 2, column 2 can be filled on the first round using the down-right diagonal. I have shown it as filled on the second round after row 5 column 2 is filled.

Using a spreadsheet can make this easier, because you can write formulas for the sums in each row, column, and diagonal. Then you're just making those sums be -20.

___

For example, consider the up-right diagonal. The sum of the given values, -6, 0, -4, -2, is -12. Then the spot at row 1, column 5 must be filled with -8 to make the sum be -20.
