The equation for surface area is 2(lw+lh+wh) or length times width plus length times height plus width times height times 2.

so in this problem legth=5 and width=4.5 so 5×4.5=22.5

length=5 height=3.5 so 5×3.5=17.5

width=4.5 height=3.5 so 4.5×3.5=15.75

add these together and you get 55.75.

now we multiply that by 2 so 55.75×2=111.5

so the surface area of the gift is (drumroll please) 111.5

Quicklkkkkkkkk If a football player passes a football from 4 feet off the ground with an initial velocity of 36 feet per second,
son4ous [18]

Answer:

Since time can't be negative, the only possible solution is 0.72 s.

Step-by-step explanation:

When the ball hits the ground its height is equal to 0, so we must find a value for "t" that results in h = 0. We have:

-16*t^2 + 6*t + 4 = 0\\t_{1,2} = \frac{-6 \pm \sqrt{(6)^2 - 4*(-16)*(4)}}{2*(-16)}\\t_{1,2} = \frac{-6 \pm \sqrt{292}}{-32}\\t_{1,2} = \frac{-6 \pm 17.1}{-32}\\t_1 = \frac{-6 -17.1}{-32} = 0.72\\t_2 = \frac{-6 + 17.1}{-32} = -0.35\\

Since time can't be negative, the only possible solution is 0.72 s.
