Answer:

\large \boxed{\$1200.00}

Step-by-step explanation:

              Let the office charge  = x

     Amount paid by Medicare = ⅞x

Amount paid by Ross = ¼(⅞x) = $262.50

Solve for x

\begin{array}{rcrl}\dfrac{1}{4} \left(\dfrac{7}{8}x \right ) & = & \$262.50 & \\\dfrac{7}{32}x & = & \$262.50 & \text{Multiplied the fractions}\\\\7x & = & \$8400.00 & \text{Multiplied each side by 32}\\x & = & \mathbf{\$1200.00} & \text{Divided each side by 7}\\\end{array}\\\text{The office wanted to charge } \large \boxed{\mathbf{\$1200.00}}

Check:

\begin{array}{rcl}\dfrac{1}{4} \left(\dfrac{7}{8}\times \$1200.00 \right ) & = & \$262.50\\\\\dfrac{1}{4} \left(\$1050.00 \right ) & = & \$262.50\\\\\$262.50 & = & \$262.50\\\end{array}

OK.

erma4kov [3.2K]

Answer:

125 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

Let distance = d and time is t

Using the variation;

d = k t^2

So let’s us get k

80 = k * 4*2

16k = 80

k = 80/16 = 5

So for 5 seconds, the distance would be;

d = 5 * 5^2

d = 125 meters

serg [7]

Complete question is;

Roger and Rita each drive at a constant speed between Phoenix and San Diego. Each driver’s distance for the same section of the trip is displayed below. Who had a head start, and how many miles was the head start?

A) Rita had a 28-mile head start.

B) Roger had a 26-mile head start.

C) Roger had a 25-mile head start.

D) Rita had a 22-mile head start.

Answer:

A) Rita had a 28-mile head start.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's assume that Roger travelled a distance of 60 miles

And that;

Rita travelled a distance of 32 miles

We are told that they travelled between Phoenix and San Diego.

Thus, it means that if they have different distances but covered same section of the trip, it means the one with higher distance started before the section of the trip.

Thus, it means that Rita had a head start of Roger since she covered only 32 miles.

Thus;

Rita had a head start of; 60 - 32 = 28 miles
