Answer:

Substance abuse is a choice

Explanation:

Substance abuse is not an infectous disease that you can inherit from another person. It is a choice that people make on their own accord. Vise verse. You cannot tell a pathogen or some sort of virus that they aren't welcome into your body, they enter us as they please. Also, the substances themselves aren't abusive, rather the people who treat them with disrespect.

When we are using copious amounts of a drug, we are making the decisions to onset our addictions. However, if we use them as prescribed and wisely, we can ensure our lifestyles are maintained and in order.

How does a writer use tone to advance an opinion ?
lina2011 [118]
Tone is 'the attitude that is conveyed by the narrator of a story'. A reader can be persuaded by a writer's use of tone particularly if it matches the readers own 'feelings' on the subject.

For example in Mein Kampf Hitler used a very superior tone - which matched the sentiments of the general population of Germany at the time.

Analyzing and Supporting a Theme
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]

ANSWER: The answer is C

If they make fun of me / in my own courtyard, let your ribs cage up / your springing heart, no matter what I suffer.

EVIDENCE:

The lines from the passage which best support the theme “true strength is knowing when not to act” are:

“If they make fun of me in my own courtyard, let your ribs cage up your springing heart, no matter what I suffer, no matter if they pull me by the heels or practice shots at me, to drive me out. Look on, hold down your anger.”

There are some parts that have special meaning and add a more solid example of self-control: “let your ribs cage up your springing heart”, this means that Odyssey has to suppress his feelings. And of course: "Look on, hold down your anger.” This quotation requires no explanation.
