The movement of muscles can be divided into eccentric and concentric motion. An eccentric movement is witnessed when one bends. When the knees bend, the muscles get lengthened at the time of contraction to deliberate the pace of descent. The muscles get flexed eccentrically. The gluteus maximus and the muscles of hamstring eccentrically monitor the movement.
