Answer:

f^{-1}(4)=3

Step-by-step explanation:

we need to find f(x) , which is stated as " the quantity of 3x minus 1, divided by 2"

the quantity of 3x minus 1 which means, 3x - 1

and then divided by 2 gives,

\frac{3x-1}{2}

so,

y=f(x)=\frac{3x-1}{2}

to find inverse of f(x) , we switch x and y,

x=\frac{3y-1}{2}

multiply both the sides by 2, in above expression

2x=3y-1

add  both the sides by 1,  in above expression

2x+1=3y

now, divide above by 3, in above expression

\frac{2x+1}{3}=y

hence f^{-1}(x)=\frac{2x+1}{3}

To find f^{-1}(4), we put x=4 in f^{-1}(x)=\frac{2x+1}{3}

f^{-1}(4)=\frac{2(4)+1}{3}

f^{-1}(4)=\frac{8+1}{3}

f^{-1}(4)=\frac{9}{3}

f^{-1}(4)=3

therefore,f^{-1}(4)=3

<span>f(x)=(<span><span>3x−1)/</span>2<----Starter </span></span>
y = (3x-1)/2
switch x and y
x = (3y-1)/2
2x = 3y-1
2x+1 =3y
y = 2/3*x + 1/3
f^(-1) (x) = 2/3*x + 1/3
f^(-1) (4) = 2/3*4 + 1/3 = 8/3 + 1/3 = 9/3 = 3

I hope this helps. ;)

How many solutions 2x+3y=-3 and 3x + 5y = -9
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]
Since the slopes of the two lines are the not equal, they will have only one solution. The solution will be a point and can be found using the method given below.

We can find the solutions by simultaneously solving the two equations.

From first equation, the value of y comes out to be:

2x+3y=-3 \\  \\ &#10;3y=-3-2x \\  \\ &#10;y= \frac{-3-2x}{3}

Using this value of y in second equation, we get:

3x+5( \frac{-3-2x}{3} )=-9 \\  \\ &#10;9x-15-10x=-27 \\  \\ &#10;-x=-27+15 \\  \\ &#10;-x=-12 \\  \\ &#10;x=12

Using this value of x, we can find y:

y= \frac{-3-2x}{3}= \frac{-3-24}{3} =-9

Therefore, there is only one solution to the given equations is which is (12, -9)

Area of ice rink is 404 sq yes what is perimeter
ololo11 [35]
Ok, since the ice rink is a square (which has equal sides) if you multiply 404 times four because a square has 4 sides which is equal to 1616 the perimiter is 1616 sqf

404*4= 1616      p= 1616sq
