Answer:

1. - (C)

2. - (B)

3. - (A)

Explanation:

'Pathos', 'ethos', and 'logos' are the constituents of Aristotle's 'modes of persuasion' for the readers. These are often treated as the "Persuasive techniques" to convey the message more effectively.

'Pathos' stands for the persuasive technique used to persuade the reader with the usage of strong emotional argument. This statement is justified in option C as it is an impassioned plea to visit Colorado to free the mind.

'Ethos' refers to the convincing via the authority which is introduced in the second option i.e. the famous snowboarder Shawn White.

'Logos' is associated with the logic and facts and that would be justified (here) only when the visitor himself experiences Colorado.

Which idea is expressed in this excerpt from "Anecdote of the Jar" by Wallace Stevens?
marshall27 [118]
Taking the whole poem into account, I think the correct answer must be C.

The jar is a small, common, impersonal object, but in Stevens' view, it affects the nature, depriving it of its inherent wilderness. Although it is one of a thousand, it still has the power and dominion over nature. Its meaningless existence leaves a negative trail in this world. If the jar was regarded as faceless a person living in a highly commercialized, industrialized world, and the nature as freedom, the parallel would be all the more effective.
