Finger [1]4 years ago

The four solutions of the given function are:

{(8 , 28) , (–6 , –28) , (1 , 0) , (–2 , –12)} ⇒ answer A

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the a solution of a linear function

1. Substitute x and y of the function by the coordinates of the solution

2. Calculate the two sides of the function

3. If the value of the left hand side (L.H.S) is equal the value of the

   right hand side (R.H.S), then the ordered pair is a solution of

   the function

∵ 4 x - y = 4

∵ The coordinates of the ordered pair are (8 , 28)

- Substitute x by 8 and y by 28 in the L.H.S

∴ L.H.S = 4(8) - (28) = 32 - 28 = 4

∵ R.H.S = 4

∴ L.H.S = R.H.S

∴ (8 , 28) is a solution of the function

∵ The coordinates of the ordered pair are (-6 , -28)

- Substitute x by -6 and y by -28 in the L.H.S

∴ L.H.S = 4(-6) - (-28) = -24 + 28 = 4

∵ R.H.S = 4

∴ L.H.S = R.H.S

∴ (-6 , -28) is a solution of the function

∵ The coordinates of the ordered pair are (1 , 0)

- Substitute x by 1 and y by 0 in the L.H.S

∴ L.H.S = 4(1) - (0) = 4 - 0 = 4

∵ R.H.S = 4

∴ L.H.S = R.H.S

∴ (1 , 0) is a solution of the function

∵ The coordinates of the ordered pair are (-2 , -12)

- Substitute x by -2 and y by -12 in the L.H.S

∴ L.H.S = 4(-2) - (-12) = -8 + 12 = 4

∵ R.H.S = 4

∴ L.H.S = R.H.S

∴ (-2 , -12) is a solution of the function

The four solutions of the given function are:

{(8 , 28) , (–6 , –28) , (1 , 0) , (–2 , –12)}

maks197457 [2]

Answer: The car travels 97.5 miles in 1.5 hour.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: A car is traveling down a highway at a constant speed, described by the equation , described by the equation d=65t, where represents the distance, in miles, that the car travels at this speed in<em> t</em> hours.

To find : Number of miles car travel in 1.5 hour.

Simply put t= 1.5 in the given expression , we get

65(1.5)= 97.5

That means , the car travels 97.5 miles in 1.5 hour.

The exponential function f(x) = 2^x undergoes two transformations to
Eddi Din [679]

Option A: It is vertically stretched

Option B: it is shifted down

Solution:

The exponential function f(x)=2^{x}undergoes two transformations to   g(x)=5 \cdot 2^{x}-3.

<u>To determine how the graph changes:</u>

Consider the given exponential function f(x)=2^{x}.

Let y = f(x)

Vertically compressed or stretched:

A vertically compression (stretched) of a graph is compressing the graph toward x-axis.

• if k > 1 , then the graph y = k• f(x) , the graph will be vertically stretched by multiplying each y coordinate by k.

• if 0 < k < 1 if 0 < k < 1 , the graph is f(x) vertically shrunk (or compressed) by multiplying each of its y-coordinates by k.

• if k should be negative, the vertical stretch or shrink is followed by a reflection across the x-axis.

Here, k = 5

So the graph will be vertically stretched.

Also, Adding 3 to the graph will move the graph 3 units down so, the graph is shifted down.

So, The graph is shifted down.

Hence option A and option B is the correct answer.

An isosceles triangle with angles b and c having the same measure is shown. Find the measure of each angle whose degree measure
Anton [14]

Answer:

A = 114°, B = C = 33°

Step-by-step explanation:

The triangle relationships let you write two equations:

A+B+C = 180

B=C

Substituting the expressions for A, B, and C, you have ...

(x+7y+41) +(2y+13) +(6x+15) = 180

7x +9y +69 = 180

7x +9y = 111

And the second equation gives ...

(2y+13) = (6x+15)

6x -2y =-2

3x -y = -1

Now, we can add 9 times this second equation to the first to eliminate the y-variable.

(7x +9y) +9(3x -y) = (111) +9(-1)

34x = 102

x = 3

Then the angle measures are ..

B = C = 6·3+15 = 33

A = 180 -2·33 = 114

The angles in the triangle are (A, B, C) = (114°, 33°, 33°).
