-3x-6y=17

-6y=3x+17

y=-x/2-17/6 so the slope of the line is -1/2

For another line to be perpendicular to this one the product of their slopes must equal -1

(-1/2)m=-1, m=2 so the perpendicular line will have a slope of 2...

y=2x+b, using point (6,3) we can solve for b...

3=2(6)+b

3=12+b

b=-9 so

y=2x-9

- If MML = (11x - 5), mJK = (4x + 26)° and mZMNL = (10x – 12),

find mZMNL.
GenaCL600 [577]

Answer:

m∠ MNL = 78º

Step-by-step explanation:

Arcs meassures

mML = (11x - 5)º

mJK = (4x + 26)°

Angle meassure

m∠MNL = (10 x – 12)º

______________________

angle measure = average of arcs

m∠MNL  = (mML+ mJK)/2

Replacing

(10x – 12)º =  ((11x - 5)º + (4x + 26)° )/ 2

10x -12 =  (15x + 21 )/2

10x - 7.5x = 10.5 + 12

2.5x = 22.5

x= 9

m∠MNL = (10 x – 12)º

             = 90 - 12

             = 78º

Lynna [10]
The answer is 42cm. the area of the rectangle in the middle is 30cm. the area of the triangle on the left is 6cm because the formula is 1/2Bh. B=2 and h=6, so 12/2=6. there are 2 of the triangles however, so you add 30+12=42

Suppose you are organizing a business meeting and are in charge of facilitating the introductions. How would you arrange a group
Effectus [21]
Hi,
This is using 'n', so there would be a lot of possibilities, but I would form a circle with the group of people, then each person would shake the person to their right, and then to their right, one time. This method would not vary because a circle can contain even or odd number of people.

Hope this helps!

A number has the property that its square is equal to 84 more than five times the number. Enter all numbers that have this prope
Liono4ka [1.6K]

Answer:

The numbers for which the given property hold true are 12 and -7

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number be x.

As per the given statement:

Square of the number (x^{2}) is 84 more than five times of the number (5x+84).

Writing in the equation form:

x^{2} =5x+84

To find:

All the numbers for which above equation holds true.

Solution:

x^{2} =5x+84

Let us solve the above equation by rearranging the terms and then let us find the roots of the equation.

It is a quadratic equation(i.e. maximum power of x is 2) so it will have 2 solutions i.e. 2 values of x for which the above equation will hold true.

x^{2} -5x-84=0

Let us factorize the equation.

\Rightarrow x^{2} -12x+7x-84=0\\\Rightarrow x(x -12)+7(x-12)=0\\\Rightarrow (x+7)(x-12)=0\\\Rightarrow \bold{x=12, -7 }

So, the numbers for which the given property hold true are 12 and -7.
