Suppose you are organizing a business meeting and are in charge of facilitating the introductions. How would you arrange a group

of n people so each person can shake hands with every other person? How might you organize this process? How many times will each person shake hands with someone else? How many handshakes will occur? How must your method vary according to wether or not n is even or odd?

Hi,
This is using 'n', so there would be a lot of possibilities, but I would form a circle with the group of people, then each person would shake the person to their right, and then to their right, one time. This method would not vary because a circle can contain even or odd number of people.

Hope this helps!

Noah pays $25.20 for non-perishable food items to give to the local homeless shelter the price includes a 5% sales tax.
Alexandra [31]

The question is incomplete:

Noah pays $25.20 for non perishable food items to give to the local homeless shelter the price includes a 5% sales of tax. what is the price before tax of the food items?

Answer:

$24

Step-by-step explanation:

From the information you have that the price of items is $25.20 and it includes a 5% tax. From this, you can write the following:

x+0.05x=25.20

Then, you can isolate x to find the price before tax:

1.05x=25.20

x=25.20/1.05

x= 24

According to this, the price before tax of the food items is $24.
