Answer:

My answer is in the explanation box for convenience's sake.

Explanation:

HOW THEY'RE SIMILAR:

Both the Nixon situation and the Clinton situation were scandals and involved impeachment. Both involved an investigation as to what happened and both has long-lasting results. Both were charged for Obstruction of Justice, but both situations have their own separate charges as well.

HOW THEY'RE DIFFERENT:

The Clinton scandal involved the president at the time, Bill Clinton, lying to congress and obstructing justice when he had an affair with a White House worker, Monica Lewinsky. The Nixon scandal involved the president at the time, Richard Nixon, obstructing justice, abusing power, defying subpoenas and tax evasion. Nixon resigned before he could be impeached and Clinton was acquitted in the Senate.

Answer:

"Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, both flawed but brilliant men who rose to power from humble origins, earned nicknames that stuck to them like glue. President Nixon. President Clinton is Slick Willie. Although the two men were quite different on the surface, the similarities between the two presidents - elected a generation apart - are striking.

And as we weigh the qualities of the people who would replace Clinton as president, it may be useful to consider what brand of leader the nation needs, or wants, standing behind the bully pulpit.

Richard Nixon saw clever foreign policy as the key to power in his time. Rich people were afraid of communism, so that's where the votes were. Thus, he became a Republican and a champion of the anti-communists.

Bill Clinton's focus has always been on domestic policy."

Damm [24]

Answer:

The correct answer is letter "D": Cindy can claim Mark as a dependent and she can file as head of household.

Explanation:

Dependents are taxpayers who as such have the right to demand deductions on a tax return. They can be "qualified child" or "qualified relative." The 2017 effective credit is $4,050. Therefore, Mark can be considered as dependent on Cindy because they lived with nobody else in the same household during the same year, even if he is not employed and he is not disabled.

Being head of the household for taxing purposes means paying more than half of the household expenses, not being married for the past year, and having a qualified dependent. Therefore, as Cindy provided all of her household's assistance, has not recently married, and has Mark as her dependent, she can be called household head.
