Hmm question is a little confusing but fractions can be represented as division or a part of somthing, like 4 pieces of an 8 slice pizza, or you have 8 peices of pizza and you divide them by 4. Im pretty sure a rational number is any number that can be representated as a fraction. an irrational number is something you  cant express as a fraction like the square root of a number or pi.

I think this is what you want? When multiplying with exponents, you either add or multiply the exponents.

When you multiply the exponent:

(x²)³ = x^{6}

(3x^{4} )^{2} = 9x^{8}

When you add the exponents:

(x²)(x³) = x^{5}

(x²)(x²) = x^{4}

(x^{4} )(x^{3} ) = x^{7}

 m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (y2-y1)/0 = undefined. This implies that x2=x1. So x is the same for any value of y on the line, which is why the equation is "x=some number" and the line is vertical. 

So the equation of a line, in slope-intercept form, with an undefined slope (m=undefined) crossing through the point (-3, 5) is:   x= -3 , which is a vertical line.
