Geetha's walk was 1380 feet long.

<h3><u>Solution:</u></h3>

Given that

Geetha decides to take her puppy for a walk.

After 90 feet, they stop to smell some roses.

Then Geetha runs into a friend 200 yards up the road.

From there they head back to her house.

Need to calculate how many feet was Geetha walk.

Lets say position of Geetha’s home be represented by A

Position of roses be represented by B

Position of friend be represented by C.

So distance covered by Geetha is from A to B , B to C then from C to B and B to A.

Given that AB = 90 feet and BC = 200 yards

As 1 yard = 3 feet , so 200 yards = 200 x 3 = 600 feet.

So total distance covered in walk = 2 (AB + BC ) = 2 ( 90 + 600 ) = 2 x 690 = 1380 feet.

Hence Geetha's walk was 1380 feet long.

Write y=2x^2+12x+14 In vertex form
ratelena [41]

Answer:

\large\boxed{y=2(x+3)^2-6}

Step-by-step explanation:

The vertex form of a parabola f(x) = ax² + bx + c:

y=a(x-h)^2+k

(h, k) - vertex

h=\dfrac{-b}{2a}\\\\k=f(h)

We have the equation:

y=2x^2+12x+14\\\\a=2,\ b=12,\ c=14\\\\h=\dfrac{-12}{2(2)}=\dfrac{-12}{4}=-3\\\\k=f(-3)=2(-3)^2+12(-3)+12=2(9)-36+12=18-36+12=-6

Finally:

y=2(x-(-3))^2+(-6)=2(x+3)^2-6

9a+2b=5a-7b find the ratio of a to b
Setler [38]

Answer:

5/4

Step-by-step explanation:

9a + 2b = 5a - 7b

Bringing like terms to one side of the equation,

9a - 5a = 7b - 2b

4a = 5b

By cross multiplication,

a/b = 5/4

Discuss why shape cannot be described for a bar chart of qualitative data?
Dvinal [7]

Answer: Explained.

Step-by-step explanation: We are given to discuss why the shape cannot be described for the bar chart of qualitative data.

The distribution shape of quantitative data can be described because there is a particular order of the values but this is not the case in qualitative data. Because the data are not numeric here.

So, we cannot make bar charts and describe the shape of qualitative data to be easily readable.

Hence, the discussion is complete.
