First see if there is a constant rate of change...

(344.8-346)/(2-0)=-0.6

(343-344.8)/(5-2)=-0.6

So the rate is constant which means this is just a line of the form y=mx+b

m=-0.6 and since we see that (0,346) we know the y-intercept, "b", is 346 so our line is:

y(x)=-0.6x+346

y(4)=343.6 ft

y(9)=340.6

A sphere and a cylinder have the same radius and height. The volume of the cylinder is 18 cm3
Minchanka [31]

Answer:

12 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's say the radius of the sphere and cylinder is r and the height is h. However, notice that the "height" of the sphere is the same thing as the diameter, which is 2r, so h = 2r.

The volume of a sphere is denoted by: V=\frac{4}{3} \pi r^3 , where r is the radius.

The volume of a cylinder is denoted by: V=\pi r^2h, where r is the radius and h is the height. Plug in 2r for h and 18 for V:

V=\pi r^2h

18=\pi r^2*2r=2\pi r^3

\pi r^3=18/2=9

Now plug in 9 for πr³ in the volume formula for the sphere:

V=\frac{4}{3} \pi r^3

V=\frac{4}{3} *9=12

The volume of the sphere is 12 cm³.

Given the function f(x) = 6(x+2) − 3, solve for the inverse function when x = 21.
Delicious77 [7]
The invese switches x and y so basically
if
f(21)=z then f⁻¹(z)=21
therefor
f(z)=21 and f⁻¹(21)=z
basically solve for the value that makes the functino equal 21

21=6(x+2)-3
add 3 both sides
24=6(x+2)
divide by 6
4=x+2
minus 2
2=x

answer is 2

Please help me with this problem, lots of points!
ziro4ka [17]

Answer:

A  f(x) = 1/3x^3

Step-by-step explanation:

g(x) = x^3

We want f(x) to be vertically compressed

f(x) = ag(x )

a is vertical stretch/compression

|a| > 1 stretches

|a| < 1 compresses

so we need to multiply by a number less than between 0 and 1

If a is negative it is a reflection, which was not asked for

f(x) = 1/3 x^3
