P₄ + 3O₂ - > 2P₂O₃.

This is an oxidation reaction or an addition reaction or a redox reaction.

Explanation:

Red Phosphorous reacts with limited oxygen in low temperature to form phosphorous trioxide which readily dimerises to form tetraphosphorous hexaoxide. This molecule is actually an anhydride of phosphorous acid, but it's not obtained from the acid itself by dehydration.

This is a type of oxidation reaction, as well as a redox reaction where oxygen is reduced and phosphorous is oxidized. It's also an addition reaction where two reactants produce a single product.

Its balanced by adding 3 before oxygen and 2 before phosphorous trioxide.

A cube has a mass of 42 grams and a volume of 15 cubic centimeters. What is it’s density?
deff fn [24]

Answer:

2.8g/cm³

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Mass of cube = 42g

Volume of cube  = 15cm³

Unknown:

Density of the cube  = ?

Solution:

Density is defined as the mass per unit volume of a substance. It is mathematically expressed as:

 Density  = \frac{mass}{volume}

So;

 Density  = \frac{42}{15}   = 2.8g/cm³

A possible problem with the roaches in the metabolic rate experiments was that they were stressed, and hyperventilating and exha
andre [41]

Answer:

It would be higher than expected.

Explanation:

Respiration quotient (RQ) may be defined as the quantity used for the representation of the basal metabolic rate. This mainly depends on the amount of the carbon dioxide.

The respiratory quotient represents the ratio of carbon dioxide eliminated with the amount of the oxygen consumed. During stress condition, the oxygen consumption of our body increase and more carbon dioxide is exhale out from the body. This will increase the RQ.

Thus, the answer is RQ will be higher than expected.

A mileage test is conducted for a new car model. Thirty randomly selected cars are driven for a month and the mileage is measure
Leni [432]

Answer:  (27.81,\ 29.39)

Explanation:

Given : Sample size : n= 30 , it means it is a large sample (n≥ 30), so we use z-test .

Significance level : \alpha: 1-0.95=0.05

Critical value: z_{\alpha/2}=1.96

Sample mean : \overline{x}=28.6

Standard deviation : \sigma=2.2

The formula to find the confidence interval is given by :-

\overline{x}\pm z_{\alpha/2}\dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

i.e. 28.6\pm (1.96)\dfrac{2.2}{\sqrt{30}}

i.e. 28.6\pm 0.787259889321

\approx28.6\pm 0.79=(28.6-0.79,28.6+0.79)=(27.81,\ 29.39)

Hence, the 95% confidence interval for the mean mpg in the entire population of that car model = (27.81,\ 29.39)
