If Joe drives 186.83 miles on a business trip, and the reimbursement from his company is $13.08. At what rate is Joe's employer
kirill115 [55]

Answer:

7 cents/mile

Step-by-step explanation:

You are looking for a unit rate of cents per mile.

Change the dollar amount to cents, and divide by the number of miles.

$13.08 * (100 cents)/$ = 1308 cents

(1308 cents)/(183 miles) = 7.001 cents/mile

The area of a rectangle is 66 ft2, and the length of the rectangle is 1 ft more than twice the width. Find the dimensions of the
umka21 [38]
This is probably way overcomplicated but i cant remember how to do it
w = n
l = 2n+1
w*l = 66
n(2n+1) = 66
2n^2 + n =66
2n^2 + n - 66 = 0
using quadratic equation

n = 11/2

width = 11/2 = 5.5
length = 11 + 1 = 12

I need to give an equation for an absolute value function that has a minimum. How do I determine that it has a minimum?.
tatyana61 [14]
To determine the minimum of an equation, we derive the <span>equation using differential calculus twice (or simply </span><span>take the second derivative of the function). If the </span><span>second derivative is greater than 0, then it is minimum; </span><span>else, if it is less than 1, the function contains the </span><span>maximum. If the second derivative is zero, then the </span><span>inflection point </span><span>is</span><span> identified.</span>
