Super legend this is still a hard question but im trying to get rid of my points i like to stay at the bottom of the point list,

is this one ok. I did have this as a question on a quiz before.
Three men go to stay at a motel, and the man at the desk charges them $30.00 for a room. They split the cost ten dollars each. Later the manager tells the desk man that he overcharged the men, that the actual cost should have been $25.00. The manager gives the bellboy $5 and tells him to give it to the men.

The bellboy, however, decides to cheat the men and pockets $2.00, giving each of the men only one dollar.

Now each man has paid $9.00 to stay in the room and 3 x $9.00 = $27.00. The bellboy has pocketed $2.00. $27.00 + $2.00 = $29.00 - so where is the missing $1.00?

$3 went to the men and and $2 to the bellboy. That's $5 in total, which is what the bellboy was supposed to give the men. So the $1 is with one of the men.

g Given the following premises: (1) a∧(b∨a) (2) ~c→~a (3) ~g→~a (4) g→e (5)~(d∨h) Prove the Conclusion: c∧~h?
KIM [24]

Answer:

See the argument below

Step-by-step explanation:

I will give the argument in symbolic form, using rules of inference.

First, let's conclude c.

(1)⇒a  by simplification of conjunction

a⇒¬(¬a) by double negation

¬(¬a)∧(2)⇒¬(¬c) by Modus tollens

¬(¬c)⇒c by double negation

Now, the premise (5) is equivalent to ¬d∧¬h which is one of De Morgan's laws. From simplification, we conclude ¬h. We also concluded c before, then by adjunction, we conclude c∧¬h.

An alternative approach to De Morgan's law is the following:

By contradiction proof, assume h is true.

h⇒d∨h by addition

(5)∧(d∨h)⇒¬(d∨h)∧(d∨h), a contradiction. Hence we conclude ¬h.

Twelve years ago, Jane was five times as old as Anne. In three years' time, Anne will be half Jane's
Soloha48 [4]

Answer:

Jane: 37 years old

Anne: 17

Step-by-step explanation:

Jane 12 years ago: 5x

Anne 12 years ago: x

In three years into the future:

Jane: 5x+15

Anne: x+15

CURRENT TIME:

Jane: 5x+12

Anne: x+12

Equation (using 3 years into the future ages): 5x+15=2(x+15)

5x+15=2x+30

(subtract 15 from both sides)

5x=2x+15

3x=15

x=5

Therefore, Jane is 37 years old and Anne is 17 years old.

40 points answer ASAP
suter [353]

Answer: See below

Step-by-step explanation:

a) There is a correlation between the number of employees in the plant and the number of products produced yearly. Specifically, a positive correlation exists because, as we can see on the table, as the number of employees increases, the number of products also increases. And the rate of increase is constant.

b) Let the function be: y = mx + b

When x = 0; y = 120

So:

120 = 0 + c

c = 120

Now the slope:

\text { Slope }=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}=\frac{200-120}{10-0}=\frac{80}{10}=8

Therefore, the equation that best fits the data is y = 8x + 120

c) The slope in the function represents the constant rate of change, meaning that as the number of employees increases by 1, the number of products produced monthly increases by 20. While the y-intercept of the plot, which is 120, indicates the constant number of products, that is to say, when there are no employees, there are still 120 products.
