Could anyone help me with this question please?
viktelen [127]

construction = divide the figure into two parts.

now we have triangle abd and bdc.

first calculate the area of abd.

area of triangle= 1/2×base ×height

area of triangle= 1/2×18×7.5

area of triangle=67.5cm²

second calculate area of bdc

area of triangle=1/2×15.6×11.7

area of triangle=91.26cm²

area of the figure=area of abd + area of bdc

area of the figure=67.5cm²+ 91.26cm²

area of figure=158.76 cm².

The sum of two nonnegative numbers is 50. What is the maximum value of the product of these two numbers ?
Umnica [9.8K]

Answer:

625

Step-by-step explanation:

Let two number be x and (50-x).

The product of numbers be x(50-x).

P = 50x-x²

For maximizing the product,

\dfrac{dP}{dx}=0\\\\\dfrac{d}{dx}(50x-x^2)=0\\\\50-2x=0\\\\50=2x\\\\x=25

So, the maximum product, P = 50(25)-(25)²

P = 625

Hence, the maximum value of the product of these two numbers is 625.
