1) we find the slope of this line:
Given two points, (x₁,y₁) and (x₂,y₂) the slope of the line passes through these points will be:
m=(y₂-y₁)/(x₂-x₁)

In this case, we have the points (1,4) and (5,8) and the slope will be:
m=(8-4)/(5-1)=4/4=1

2)Point-slope form of a line:
We need a point (x₀,y₀) and the slope (m);
y-y₀=m(x-x₀)

we can chooso either point of this line (1,4) or (5,8) the end result will be the same.
For example, we choose the point (1,4);
y-y₀=m(x-x₀)
y-4=1(x-1)    (point-slope form          y-y₀=m(x-x₀))
y=x-1+4
y=x+3             (slope-intercept form      y=mx+b)
-x+y=3            (standard form     Ax+By=C)

if we choose the point (5,8)
y-8=1(x-5)          (point-slope form)
y=x-5+8
y=x+3
-x+y=3

Therefore:

First find the slope
for points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2)
the slope is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

points are (1,4) and (5,8)

slope is (8-4)/(5-1)=4/4=1

y=mx+b
m=slope
y=1x+b
y=x+b
find b

(1,4) given
(x,y)
x=1 and y=4 is a point
sub to find b

4=1(1)+b
4=1+b
minus 1 both sides
3=b

y=x+3
minus  x both sides
-x+y=3

D is the answer

Bryan's hockey team is purchasing jerseys. The company charges $250 for a onetime set-up fee and $23 for each printed jersey. Wh
Ugo [173]

Answer:

250+23x=y

Step-by-step explanation:

x represents the amounts of jerseys the team buys. Once that amount is known they will multiply. 23x= 23 *x

y is the amount of money spent, or the sum.

52.68 feet per hour convert to inches
Ede4ka [16]
632.16 inches per hour is the answer. Find the conversion rate of feet to inches, which is just 1 foot = 12 inches. Then, multiply 52.68 by 12 to get the answer.
Hope this helped.

What is the volume of a rectangular prism with side lengths 15.8m, 24.5m, and 4.2m?
vampirchik [111]

Answer: A = 1,625.82 m³

Step-by-step explanation:

   The volume of a rectangular prism can be found with;

             A = L * W * H

             A = L * W * H

             A = (15.8m) * (24.5m) * (4.2m)

             A = 1,625.82 m³

The gcf of two numbers less than or equal to 12 is 2. Their LCM is 20.What are the numbers?
bixtya [17]

We know:

LCM(a,\ b)=\dfrac{ab}{GCF(a,\ b)}

We have

GCF(a,\ b)=2,\ LCM(a,\ b)=20,\ a\leq12,\ b\leq12

Substitute:

20=\dfrac{ab}{2}\qquad|\cdot2\\\\ab=40

40=1\cdot40=2\cdot20=4\cdot10=5\cdot8

Only 4 and 10 meet the requirements of the question.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

40 and 1 NOT, because 40 > 12

20 and 2 NOT, because 20 > 12

5 and 8 NOT because GCF(5, 8) = 1
