You just need to substitute the the given function. So if f(-8) then you fill in f(n)=2n+4 which would be f(-8)=2(-8)+4. Which is -12.

hope this helps !

Find the coefficient of x^7 in the expansion of (3x+4)^11
devlian [24]

Use the binomial theorem:

(a+b)^n=\displaystyle\sum_{k=0}^n\binom nka^{n-k}b^k

In this case,

(3x+4)^{11}=\displaystyle\sum_{k=0}^{11}\binom{11}k(3x)^{11-k}4^k

The x^7 term occurs for k=4:

\dbinom{11}4(3x)^{11-4}4^4=\dfrac{11!}{4!(11-4)!}3^74^4x^7=184,757,760x^7

Solve for n.<br> F-7 (n-46)
RSB [31]

Answer:

F/7 +46=n

Step-by-step explanation:

(WARNING IDK IF THIS IS THE CORRECT WAY TO SOLVE) Start with the equation itself F-7(n-46). You’re first step is to simplify the equation by distributing -7 to (n-46). So multiple n by -7 and multiply -46 by -7. After that you’re equation should look like f-7n+322. This is when you can start trying to solve for n. You want n on the other side of the equal sign so you’re going to add -7n to the one side of the equal sign. F+322=7n. Now to get n by itself divide 7 to both sides of the equation. This will give you F/7+6=n.

In the polynomial below, what number should replace the question mark to produce a difference of squares? X^2 + ?x -49 A. 0 B. 1
Mrac [35]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

The difference of squares formula is a² - b² = (a + b)(a - b). We want this polynomial to be in the form a² - b². We notice that x² and 49 are perfect squares already which means that we don't need the x term. To get rid of it, its coefficient must be 0 because 0 times anything is 0, thus the x term will be removed and we'll be left with x² - 49 which is a difference of squares.

Bethany uses 8% of her paycheck to pay for gas. If she spent 34.12 on gas this week how much was her paycheck?
Schach [20]

Answer: 426.5

Step-by-step explanation:

You know that she spent 34.12 on gas and you also know that that amount of money was the 8% of her paycheck.

Therefore, keeping the above on mind, you can write the following expression, where x is the total amount of money of her paycheck:

0.08x=34.12

When you solve for  x, you obtain the result shown below:

x=\frac{34.12}{0.08}\\\\x=426.5
