Read this excerpt from "The World on Turtle's Back." When the girl awoke, she knew that she would bear twins. Even before they w

ere born, there was contention between the twins. There was no peace between these two brothers. When it was time for them to be born, the right-handed twin wanted to be born in the normal way. The left-handed twin saw light in the other direction and was determined to be born through his mother's mouth or nose. In his attempt to be born in the opposite direction, he killed his mother. Based on this excerpt, it is reasonable to conclude that the brothers were opposites and would always be in conflict. the right-handed brother was smarter than the left-handed one. the left-handed brother wanted to murder his mother. the two brothers despised and wanted to kill each other.

Answer:

the brothers were opposites and would always be in conflict.

Explanation:

According to the excerpt from "The World on Turtle's Back," the Iroquois considered the two sides of human character. In that respect, the right-handed baby represents good, and the left-handed onewho kills his mother represents evil. As a result, the legend that explains the origin of earth, plants, animals and humans also believes that good and evil will always fight with each other.

Select the answer with parallel structure. A. Last week Mark started coming home late, missing classes, and arguing with his p
RSB [31]

Answer:

A. Last week Mark started <u>coming home late</u>, <u>missing classes</u>, and <u>arguing with his parents</u>

Explanation:

A parallel structure is used when the same pattern is repeated and the same pattern has the same function. For example, in the statement above, the verb <em>to start</em> is used with some complements. The complements , which refer to different activities, are expressed through  participles ( _ing): <em>starting...; missing </em>...and <em>arguing.</em>.... These are all participles and function as the complement of <em>to start.</em>
