Answer:

3.74

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard deviation for this question is 3.74. I found this by going to an online graphing calculator, I use GeoGebra Graphing Calculator and insert the numbers. Before you type them though, you have to put SD (this stands for standard deviation, and yes it MUST be capitalized.) Then insert the points into a set of parentheses and press enter. Like so:

SD(42, 54, 50, 42, 46, 46, 48, 48) = 3.74165

Usually, your instructor will only want you to round two decimal places so the rest of the deviation is not needed or important unless you have to round up.

I hope this helped. :)

A parking space is 20 feet long. A pickup truck is 6 yards long. How many inches longer is the parking space than the truck
masya89 [10]

1 yard = 3 feet.

Multiply the length of the truck by 3 to get total feet:

6 x 3 = 18 feet.

Subtract the length of the truck from the length of the parking space:

20 - 18 = 2 feet

1 foot = 12 inches.

Multiply 2 feet by 12:

2 x 12 = 24 inches longer.

A grocery store manager claims that 75% of shoppers purchase bananas as least once a month. Technology was used to simulate choo
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer:

P-value = 0.0333

At 5% level of significance;

0.0333 < 0.05

Therefore, we reject null hypothesis H₀ at 5% level of significance,

We conclude that proportion of shoppers who bought bananas at least once in the past month is overstated

Step-by-step explanation:

 Given the data in the question;

To test whether population proportion p is overstated;

Null hypothesis H₀ : p = (75%) = 0.75

Alternative hypothesis H₁ : = < (75%) < 0.75

now, sample proportion p" = 64 / 100 = 0.64

from the dot plot below, we will determine the p-value for test { P(p" < 0.64)}

so, the number of times p"<0.64 in 150 simulations is 5

Hence; P(p" < 0.64 ) = 5 / 150 = 0.0333

P-value = 0.0333

At 5% level of significance;

0.0333 < 0.05

Therefore, we reject null hypothesis H₀ at 5% level of significance,

We conclude that proportion of shoppers who bought bananas at least once in the past month is overstated
