Explain how energy from the sun converts water and carbondioxide into food for plant
Mnenie [13.5K]
Photons of sunlight enter the plant through the leaves and the plant uses this energy in the mesophyll cells (middle cells), more specifically in the chloroplasts, to conduct photosynthesis. The plant transports water and sugars to the plant via the xylem and phloem tubes which allows the plant to grow and thrive. Carbon dioxide is a product made by the cell which is used during glycolysis to make glucose, or sugar, which is food for the plant. The plant also produces oxygen during the process of photosynthesis which diffuses out of the plant into the atmosphere. Water is used in the process as a reactant for most of the reactions that take place. It’s there to help reactions go along and have the correct products.
