It is -10 because any time you multiply (or divide) a positive by a negative it will always be a negative number. My teacher taught me to use a triangle. Two negatives and 1 positive. Cross out the symbol that is being used in the problem, whatever is left is if your answer is a positive or negative :) this doesn’t work for add or sub though.

So 2•5 is 10 of course
now there is 1 negative and 1 positive
you have - - +
you have one negative so thay leaves you with
- +
You have one positive so that leaves you with -

Your answer is 10 so
-10

8. Bob bought a pair of tennis shoes on sale
mr_godi [17]

Answer:

20%

Step-by-step explanation:

So, I would set this up as a proportion-

72          x

90        100

Cross multiply-

100 x 72 = 7200

Divide-

7200/90 = 80

Subtract-

100 - 80 = 20

So, it is a 20% decrease

Find the midpoint of the line segment whose endpoints are (2.6,5.1) and (3,4.7).
svp [43]

Answer:

Mid point is: (2.8;4.9)

Step-by-step explanation:

To find midpoint of a line segment we can use the general equation:

Mid=\frac{x_1+x_2}{2} ;\frac{y_1+y_2}{2}

Where the point of the line are: (x₁;y₁) and (x₂;y₂).

In the problem, x₁ = 2.6, y₁ = 5.1 and x₂ = 3 and y₂ = 4.7. Replacing in the equation:

Mid=\frac{2.6+3}{2} ;\frac{5.1+4.7}{2}

<h3>Mid point is: (2.8;4.9)</h3>
